Mississippi tourism can cover a wide range of things to see, from the Ghosts and Legends tour in Columbus to the “Candlelight Ghost Tour during Halloween Week in Vicksburg. Or you can go over to Noxubee County and visit the jail that was erected in 1907 and has operative gallows. Of course, there are things that are far less frightening to see in Mississippi such as the beautiful Magnolias mansion in Aberdeen with its antebellum architecture, exquisite mahogany staircase and beautiful furnishing. This home was built in 1850 and offers daily tours.

You might want to stop in at the Tom Bevill Visitors Center and Museum in Pickensville. This museum show the story of life on the river in this replica of an 1830 - 1860 Greek revival antebellum plantation mansion built on the Tombrigbee River.

Racing is big in Mississippi and you can visit one of the tracks in Columbus, the Columbus Speedway where there is racing on Saturday nights from March through September. The 3/10 mile, high banked clay oval track will give you lots of thrills as the cars speed around amidst the dirt and noise! The track is just 7 miles east of Columbus on Hwy 82 so it’s easy to get to and offers a great Saturday night of enjoyment.

If you are interested in the African-American Heritage of the area you may want to schedule your Mississippi tour to come during the month driving tour that celebrates Black History Month. Here you can take a tour of the African-American Heritages sites of Columbus. Friday night, during the celebration, you can enjoy “Catfish in the Alley,” featuring Catfish and blues music downtown on Catfish Alley. The driving tours are at 9 a.m. 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. with stops at historic sites around town. The tours on Saturday are free.

Magnolia is a small community that you will want to make sure you visit while on your Mississippi tourism vacation. This small town is home to three of Mississippi’s premier Queen Anne residences and an antebellum Greek Revival cottage as part of the Southtown Historic District. The Myrtle Street District is a typical neighborhood from the turn of the century and will transport you back in time by just looking at the simplicity of this area. Both of these districts are on the National Historic Register.

To get there Magnolia can be reached by Interstate 55, north or south, at exit 10, from the east on Highway 48 from Hattiesburg, Ms., and from the west on Highway 24 from Liberty, Ms.

Taylormade Golf Clubs arent something You cant just knock together in your back shed. Consistent repetitive end results from the manufacturing process are a clear testament to their investment in quality. Its comforting to know that such pride is taken during manufacture especially when I have to justify shelling out hard earned cash.

Taylormade Golf Inc. designs assembles markets and distributes premium quality technologically innovative golf clubs. Specific concentration on their special areas of expertise has enable Taylormade golf to really excell with their golf club and accessories products. Taylormade golf investment in research and design ensures that they produce ground breaking designs year after year after year.

A sensational consumer response has been afforded since their release of the Taylormade Golf Clubs. I might just have to keep this one to myself at least until I take my buddies money next saturday. Yep there I was ogling them in anticipation of what they looked like they could do all by themself.

Tour design and shape incorporate Low center of gravity higher MOI and less spin than conventional ironss delivering ideal launch conditions and playability for mid to high swing speeds and the aspirational golfer. Taylormade Golf Clubs utilises staggered weight distribution to place the centre of gravity back and low to improve 5 - 7 iron gap progression symmetry. CGB RAC R7 Burner. It really is a great idea to make the 8 - pw a cavity back design to ensure these clubs are suitable to a wider range of player skillsets.

Taylormade Golf Clubs have proven to be a piece of kit that is incredibly easy to use and I only wish I had acquired them much earlier. 3 rounds in row now within 3 shots of each other is a good initial indicator for me with a 5 shot variance the norm from my statistics. Stopping power on the greens is really something that I have noticed and I have had a number of shots pull up short because of this.

Without doubt the focus of these clubs for golfers is game improvement facilitation for a wide skillset of players. Thanks to TaylorMade golf nailing the design of the hybrid iron I really have disovered another gear with my longer approaches. Taylormade Golf Clubs progression from muscle back to cavity back in the shorter irons is a definite ploy to make all shots easier to play by offering the best club technology pertinent to the type of shot required.

Be reasonable with yourself when you are assessing your own skill level before purchasing any sporting equipment. Failure to abide by this golden rule will almost certainly sour your results. Optimal performance and leading edge technology innovation are all on show to perfect your game with Taylormade Golf Clubs.

If you have a good trusted suppliler that you are happy with then stick with them to avoid geting burnt. Dont get caught in the scams if the golf deal is too good then there is probably a good reason. I have not had any problems with these guys touch wood offtogolf.com.au golfsaleadams.com and offtogolf.com.au Taylormade Golf Clubs

Many people think of Kansas tourism as this flat wasteland in the center of the United States. How wrong they are! Kansas is filled with interesting history, beautiful prairielands, museums, cultural events and attractions and the nicest people anywhere. You can travel in Kansas going from the large city of Kansas City to the little bitty town of Garnett where hospitality is shown in abundance.

When I tell you that you can visit the small towns it’s no joke. Kansas has a large number of towns under 1000 people. Take Selden for example. Here, according to the July 2007 report there is a population of 177. Even though there are small towns there is huge pride and friendliness so stop in and say hello. There is land enough to give you some space, views that go on for “ever” and history that will keep you interested for hours on end. Try your luck hunting the pheasants at one of the ranches or farms that take you out during the season.

If you like haunted places then you really want to go to Atchison where there is a Haunted Atchison Trolley Tour that will take you through the “Most Haunted Town in Kansas.” The trolley runs in September and October. The 1 hour ghost tour takes you to a number of homes in the community such as the McInteer Villa where lights go on and off in areas where there is no electricity, ghostly appearances have shown in the tower of the house and also in family photographs. There are footsteps where no one is and doors slamming in rooms that are empty. This is just one of the many houses that you will visit while riding the 1880 AT&SF trolley.

If you enjoy the unique you will enjoy Henry’s Sculpture Hill near Augusta. Here are an array of sculptures created from steel and/or found objects which will enchant you and entertain you. Since this is a private hill, the creator has stopped giving tours for now because of “maintenance, insurance, old age, and attitude, [but] serious buyers who are looking for original steel sculptures are welcome by appointment.” So, if you see something you want to buy, make sure you go and talk to him, otherwise, just look and leave him alone for now. How refreshing to have someone of his artistic talent be so brutally honest.

Have you ever thought about being in the Garden of Eden? Well you can be, right there in Lucas, Kansas! This unique “log cabin” was guilt in 1907 by a retired school teacher and Civil War veteran and in the final 31 years of his life created this unforgettable legacy in three parts. The “log cabin” was built with logs up to 27 feet long and cared from limestone. Dinsmoor, the builder, call it “the most unique home for living or dead on Earth.” He gave tours of this 11 room home during his lifetime. Now tours are given daily May through October. Weekends in January & February. Weekdays March, April, November & December. The cost for the tours is just $6 for adults and $1 for age 6-12. The garden is built of limestone and 113 tons of concrete and tells the history of the world starting with its creation. Come and see the 150 figures plus other forms such as insects to 40 ft tall trees in this unique and fascinating garden in the small town of Lucas.

Manhattan has more than college football. There is the great Fort Riley where you can really get to study military history. As part of your learning experience you can visit the last cavalry training stables with its original cobblestone flooring which used to house 76 horses. Today it still houses horses for the Commanding General’s Mounted Color Guard where 20 head are ready for parade all the time. This facility was built in 1889. This is just one of the many historical sites you can see and learn about while at the Fort. Although today the technology and advancements in military power are constantly being updated, history is still worth learning about.

Take the Gypsum Hills Scenic Byway to see the true color of Kansas. Here the hills are filled with canyons, rolling hills, mesas and buttes in stunning color, right in central Kansas. The red cedar tress add a beautiful touch to the terrain. The land is red because it is full of iron oxide which is actually rust. Get off the paved roads to see the real beauty but keep in mind that this is open range so keep your eyes open for animals.

Hot and Cold water towers dot the skyline of Canton. Here the townspeople used their sense of humor to make them stand out among the usual settings of towers. Just think of how funny they think it is when “city folk” ask if they really do hold hot and cold water!

There are times of the year that hiking in California is so beautiful that you will want to go every weekend! Maybe even take a week and see more than one area of the state on different trails. If you are looking for some of the best hiking trails around rivers, glaciers, deserts, the coastline or the grasslands California has it all.

If you choose Mount Tallac you will have a 9.4 mile round trip hike with elevations reaching 9,735 ft. with a gain of 3,255 ft during the hike. Make sure you bring lots of water, you are working hard and your body needs to have the fluids replenished to sustain the healthy level you need for this type of hike. There are both wooded areas and flatlands for you to enjoy on this hike. It is considered to be one of the best hiking trails at Lake Tahoe where you will enjoy the beautiful views from the summit. When you get to the switchbacks toward the top you will experience a real change to hot, just be ready for it.

The hike to Upper Yosemite Falls is 7.2 miles round trip. The elevation at the summit is 6,526 ft and an elevation gain of 2,700 ft. You will want to do this hike from May to jUly when the waterfall is at its full force and most beautiful. You will hike through switchbacks in the forested area before coming to the flat area with your first view of the falls. Enjoy the mist from the falls as you get closer to it. You will face another set of switchbacks before reaching the summit. These are the most difficult and very steep so if you aren’t in good physical condition you will want to pass on this part.

Desert hiking is a little different. It’s hot and yet beautiful when you go to Mosiac Canyon. The trail is just 2.5 miles round trip but you are in the desert so it is hot. Bring plenty of water with you. The formations of the canyon are stunning; you will be able to see nature at its best and maybe even some desert wildlife while on this hike. This location is the hottest place in the US so be ready to be super hot and drink plenty of water (not sodas or other stuff, water to hydrate your body!)

If you want the most challenging trail in California you will want to hike Mt. Shasta. This trail is 12 miles round trip with body assaulting climbs. Not only is the climb a challenge physically but at an elevation of 14,179 ft at the summit and a gain of 7,259 during your climb you are going to experience pain you only thought about before. You need to plan this hike for between May and mid July due to the changing weather. In the spring the storms can hit quickly and violently and in the summer you are facing lava rocks that are nasty on your body and feet and the risk of rolling boulders that have come loose with the snow melt that will roll down the mountain and your chances of getting out of the way are limited at best. Not only that but you will face the problem of altitude sickness so be sure you hike with a partner for safety reasons and practical sense. You must be in superior physical condition to take on this challenge. If you aren’t, find another path to hike.

Mt. Shasta offers you a different type of hike. You will want to bring your sunscreen, sunglasses, an ice axe and shelter. Since you won’t have much warning if the weather is going to turn on you take the shelter to offer protection when, and if, you need it. Bring along your crampons, helmet, summit pass, and winter boots and wear extra layers of cloths, and again, plenty of water. Don’t plan on drinking snow melt around Helen’s Lake since it is contaminated by human and animal urine…yummy!

The 16 mile round trip hike of Half Dome has an elevation gain of 4,800 ft. It reaches the summit of 8,842 ft. This hike is best between late May and early October. It is a difficult hike which brings people from all around the world to Yosemite National Park. If you aren’t in excellent physical shape with lots of hiking and climbing experience behind you don’t attempt this climb. The switchbacks are rocky and many ankles are injured here so be super careful. When you reach Nevada Falls you are at the halfway point of the climb. Here you should take the time to assess your strengths and skills to see if you are prepared to continue on. The climb gets tougher so be ready. Not only is the climb tough but the altitude change will require some adjustment of your body so give it a little while. Rest, and then go on. The continuation is very steep, excruciatingly long to reach the back of Half Dome rock. Your body is continually assaulted on the switchbacks during this phase. The Half Dome cables will fill you with shock and fear, they should! Now, assess your ability to continue on and if you are sure you are willing, the success of the climb will give you stunning views of Yosemite Valley below. This hike is only for those that are in good, if not superior, physical condition. If you aren’t then don’t do this one. There are many other trails that will better fit your ability.

by Trip Wend

Currently, Mexico ranks first place as a tourist destination in Latin America, being that most of its visitors come from the United States and Canada. Mexico is a prefect blend of old and new, with incredible ancient sites and stunning beach resorts.

It was 9,000 years ago that the first inhabitants of the territory of Mexico were recorded. In 1519 the Spanish invaded the main indigenous people who were the Aztecs and the Mayans. The constructions of the Aztecs and Mayans remained after they were wiped out and are now major attractions.

Currently, Mexico has been divided into thirty-one states. It is actually the United Mexican States and a federal constitutional republic. With about 11 to 14 in 100,000 inhabitants falling victim to homicide, crime has become a major problem. However tourists are usually safe since most crimes are drug and cartel related.

Climate can be very diverse in Mexico with a tropical climate is some regions and temperate climate in other regions. This is partly due to the mountain areas which help to create diverse weather. Snow can be found in Chihuahua but there is also the Altar desert in Sonora. Even though the climate is diverse here, most of the cities are in the Valley of Mexico which has a mild climate all year.

The beach scenery is a definite attraction in Mexico vacations. The most famous ones are CancAon and Acapulco. The first one is especially popular among American college students who invade the region in masses during Spring Break. The latter was once a destination for the rich and famous but is now a busy and possible costal location.

Both ruins and party spots bring in the tourists. In central and southern Mexico, on can find the ruins of the Aztecs and Mayans. One of the most famous tourist ruins is the Mayan \”The Castle\” of Chichen-Itza, located in the Yucatan State on the Yucatan Peninsula.

Mexico’s major cities are proof that Mexico is trying to be a modern country. The country is trying to hold on to historical heritage while embracing new cultural interests. Mexico City is known for Meso-American attractions while Guadalajara is known for Mexican traditions. The most modern city that has famous museums known worldwide is Monterrey in Nuevo Leon.

If a Mexican Vacation interests you then keep an eye open for discounted airfare, travel deals, and promotional offers. The states of Florida, Texas, and New Mexico have some great deals due to the proximity to Mexico. There is sure to be something that interests everyone in Mexico due to the variety of attractions.

by Patricia Calloway

The gold mines of Oregon were mined by the Chinese in the 1800’s and a small town of John Day was the home to many of them.

The need for medical care, supplies and conversation were part of the Kam Wah Chung trading posts daily routine when miners gathered to share their experiences, or to get the medical help they needed from Doc Hay. Doc Hay had a supply of over 500 herbs used to treat every known ailment, all kept in the apothecary which had iron bars over the windows to keep unwanted “guests” out.

Volcanic tuff which was quarried locally provided the foundation and first level of the building while the second story was built using pine wood planking. With time the building became worn and weathered, but the history connected to the building teaches us about the life and times of the Chinese workers in the 1800’s in small John Day.

Two men, Doc Hay and Lung On owned the building but were not selfish with their home, they opened the doors to relatives, travelers and indigent workers that needed shelter for a time. In the 1940’s this ceased, times had changed.

Entering the Kam Wah Chung Museum will open the door to your for a wealth of information about how the Chinese miners lived. It has a display of Chinese art work and written information for you to browse. You will also be able to tour the 7 rooms including the kitchen, medical room, general store area, stockroom, herb room and two bedrooms. This opportunity to study the history of Oregon is one you will be glad you took the time to explore.

You can visit the museum from May 1st through September 30 when it closes for the winter. The facility is wheelchair accessible. The hours are from 9 - 5 seven days a week during the season.

Located on NW 1st Ave. in John Day, Oregon this Museum will take you on a trip through history. They would love to have you visit so mark it on your route.

Are you a member of the Silent Generation or the Baby Boom generation? If you are you may remember the Route 66 that took you on a trip through the panhandle of Texas and the other states from Illinois to California. Now you can relive those days on a historic trip on the old Route 66.

The Silent Generation members were born between 1927 and 1945 and many were shaped in their thoughts and actions by the Great Depression, WWII, and the Cold War. They have worked hard all their lives to be able to live the good life and the trip along old Route 66 may be one they just shouldn’t miss.

1946 - 1964 is the era of the Baby Boom generation. Being influenced by the civil rights movement, Vietnam War and the assassinations of President Kennedy, Dr. King and Bobby Kennedy the this generation became more mobile as they searched for stability in their lives and the nation. Route 66 was the way you traveled from Illinois to California and had the opportunity to see the states between.

You can start you family vacation going from Illinois to Missouri, then on to Kansas and Oklahoma and Texas, now you enter New Mexico, Arizona and end up in California. The Route 66 will give you a chance to see the heart of America and meet some of the people that make this country so great.

You will either begin your trip in the Chicago area and then end in Los Angeles. It gives you the opportunity to see such places as the Arch in St. Louis, the smaller towns along the way and the middle sized towns such as Springfield and the wonderful people of Missouri. Kansas will take you to Galena, Riverton and Baxter Springs with all the history of these communities and all there is to see. Tulsa is a great place to stop off and take a tour of this beautiful city. The hospitality will certainly leave a warm place in your heart. Here the people are so nice they actually stop to let a car enter the stream of traffic from a parking lot!

When you leave Oklahoma and enter Texas you will get into Amarillo. Here you have the opportunity to visit a wide range of western based museums and learn about the settlement of this region of the state. Route 66 in New Mexico takes you across the entire state beginning in Tucumcari and ending in Gallup. This area of the state offers you an opportunity to see the beautiful city of Albuquerque. Take the time to visit some of the museums in the city, learn about the Native American culture in this area of the state and see their beautiful artwork. Then you are entering the state of Arizona and on to California with all that it has to offer. What a fabulous family vacation.

It is a real challenge at times to find a great vacation deal. Often times you are visiting new places you have never been, so you have no idea where to stay in order to get a good price. Las Vegas is no exception as it can feel like gambling when you are trying to find the perfect hotel at a perfect price in that city. What would you say if you heard you can find a great vacation spot in Las Vegas and get a golf package to boot? Well read on because your dream is about to come true.

There are a lot of ways to get good deals on great places. For example you can checkout Internet sites, read books and magazines, or buy timeshares or coupon books. But let’s not forget about golfing. Think about whether or not you want to bring your clubs on the plane, or would it be better to rent clubs? And don’t forget expenses like caddy fees, green fees, and fees to rent a golf cart. There are a lot of pricey items to consider when planning a Vegas vacation.

Web sites and books are great places to start in order to find all inclusive places and avoid surprise expenses. Many timeshares and hotels in Las Vegas offer packages that include green fees to luxury golf courses in the price of your room. The packages are convenient because there are fewer details to worry about (cart and club rentals with caddy fees of course). Beware that not every golf course provides club rental services, so check before getting on the plane without your clubs.

Are you still be wondering how to know you are getting the best available deal on your Vegas golf vacation? Check out the Web and do a price comparison of golf courses in the area you wish to stay. You will notice that some courses include caddy fees in the price of using the course (either way, do not forget about tipping). Check on golf cart rental fees while you are doing your online research - prices vary widely. Look for the many deals offered online before you book your tee times or hotel stay.

Not all comparisons are \”apples to apples.\” One package might include both green fees and caddy fees in the room price, while others break these out separately. Some packages are pricey because the resort is located right on the Las Vegas strip, while others are cheaper because they are off the strip. Some courses are challenging and pricey because they are designed for advanced players, while others are lower priced because they are designed for casual golfers. What are your preferences? Do you like the strip or would you rather play off the strip? Are you an advanced player or do you play just for fun? Your preferences and resort prices must all be taken into account when comparing the wide range of options available to you.

Searching though golf magazines is another good idea to find the best price for a Las Vegas golf vacation package. Sometimes ads and articles in these magazines focus on top golf courses and packages that are good deals. The magazine may even reference some agencies that help book golf vacation packages. The pictures in the magazine, or better yet online, will also give you a great idea of what a course may look like if you are unfamiliar with the area.

If youare still having trouble then call the various course Pro Shops where you are considering to play and ask for their recommendations as to why you should play on their course. The employees there are very knowledgeable and should be able to help you make decisions if you have questions on which course if better for you to play based on your skill level.

Now you should no longer be asking yourself, how do I get the best price for a Las Vegas golf vacation package because you should have a good understanding of resources to use while planning your vacation. Being a smart shopper will help you save a lot of money. Donat forget to consider fees, course location, and other services that may require payment before you book the vacation of a lifetime.

New Balance hiking boots offer a great blend of fashion and durability. Both breathable and flexible, they mold to the customer’s foot like it was custom designed. With a wide range of options and the quality New Balance customers have come to expect, these boots are a great addition to any collection.

Quality Materials
Featuring Gore-tex(tm) fabric, these boots are built to keep feet dry while also allowing maximum air flow. It also provides the durability needed in boots intended for rough terrain. The bottom of the boots are made out of Vibram(r), a material meant to offer the best surface contact available while also assuring great traction for the slippery areas on the trail. The midsole is made from polyurethane, providing the support needed for a long day of hiking. The hiking boots also have a unique tongue, made of engineered foam, featuring flex-points that bend in the same way and places as your foot. The top of the boots are made out of leather, and the shoe laces are locked against coming undone.

Quality Features
In addition to the characteristics above, New Balance hiking boots feature a stone guard on the front of the shoe to prevent annoying pebbles from slowing you down. At just under a pound and a half, they are light weight enough to be easily worn, but tough enough to take even the rockiest trails. Your foot is supported by a specially designed Abzorb(r) insert. These shoes are designed to cradle your foot no matter what the terrain.

Great Prices
New Balance offers two designs of hiking boots for both men and women. Women’s shoes are a little bit lighter, but have the same features as the men’s boots. Both are moderately priced at around $150 for the 1500 model, and between $90 and $120 for the 1200 model, depending on where you shop. The prices are comparable to other hiking shoes, but the quality and features can’t be matched by their competitors. For younger hiking enthusiasts, New Balance also offers kids’ boots, running about $60 for a pair with similar features to the adult models.

Great Reviews
Customers have very complimentary things to say about New Balance hiking boots. They are sized a little small, so be sure to try on a pair before purchasing. Many customers say that these are the best, most comfortable shoes they’ve ever worn. They have been highly rated for warmth, quality of waterproofing, rough terrain, use in snow and slush, stability and everyday use.

The hiking boots offered by New Balance are a great buy for anyone looking for a pair of boots that will keep up with their demands. These shoes are meant for playing hard. They feature great features that were designed with the comfort and support of the customer in mind. Hiking boots are another great addition to the New Balance line.

callaway x 18 arent something You cant just knock together in your back shed. Consistent repetitive end results from the manufacturing process are a clear testament to their investment in quality. I enjoy the fact the each piece of kit performs as consitently as the other.

Diligent in their pursuit of excellence is a mainstay of the Callaway golf company in their pursuit of golf perfection. Callaway golf also enjoy a tour reputation for their golf clubs and accessories. Callaway golf investment in research and design ensures that they produce ground breaking designs year after year after year.

The numbers dont lie and they all point to a real success story in the making for the callaway x 18. The manufacturer must be rubbing their hands with glee at the sight of their hard work and investment paying off. Statistically i am noticing a real difference and that must be attributed to my new purchase.

Mid to high speed swings will ensure optimum performance extraction for players from the 3 & 4 ironss. callaway x 18 optimise player consistency results in the 5 - 7 irons by ensuring a smooth stagger progression throughout the club range. Cavity back playability and performance are enlisted with the design of the 8 - pw irons to complete the set.

callaway x 18 have changed my game to a point I didnt think possible nor did I expect. The skinners group will have to keep paying for some time to come until the handicapper sorts out my new found proficiency. I had a tendency to hit nearly all of my shots high wide and with plent of purchase but luckily the ugliness has now been somewhat abated.

Consistency and confidence from your game will both benefit from these game improvement irons. Adams pretty much invented the hybrid golf club and their success is no surprise to find them as a cetrepiece of these irons. callaway x 18 gives me the best of 3 different desing ideas which when mastered really make a lot of sense to help me improve my game.

There is a definite tendency to over exaggerate ones own abilities prior to an equipment acquisition. Lie to yourself and you may well and truly have that lie returned with poor performance results due to a skillset - equipment mismatch. Who doesnt want to have the best kit around with the best suitability for most players so it comes as no surprise that there is a huge demand for the callaway x 18.

If you have a good trusted suppliler that you are happy with then stick with them to avoid geting burnt. Be on the lookout for the likes of billy bobs bargain bazaar where the motto is we will do a deal for you as you might find yourself with a little less than you haggled for. The most common question is where do I get the best deals on discount golf equipment mygolfbid.com golfsaleadams.com and mygolfbid.com.au (Australian) callaway x 18
