Orlando and Disney World
Every child is excited when they hear from their parents that they are going to Disney World. It is every kid’s dream. Children are truly excited to me going there. Only the Christmas season is probably more exciting to any child.
It’s been more than 40 years since Disney World was opened just outside Orlando in Florida. Florida now is home to many, many theme parks including Universal Studios, Sea World, Isles of Adventure and Busch Gardens to name a few in addition to the major Disney World attractions like Magic Kingdom, Animal Kingdom and Epcot.
Metro Orlando now is home to two million people. There are things to do for the whole family, not only the kids. Plan to spend a week or two in the central Florida area, if your budget allows.
Head first to the Magic Kingdom and visit Main street USA. There you will see some of your favorites like Mickey Mouse, Donald Duck, and Goofy. Other destinations in the kingdom include Fantasyland, Tomorrowland, Adventureland, Frontierland, and Liberty Square. Be sure also to go in Cinderella’s castle and Mickey’s Toontown Fair.
What’s that big ball, not far in the distance. Well it’s Epcot. It’s Disney’s park for technical innovation and international culture. The big ball is actually Spaceship Earth. There is actuall a time machine ride inside. Epcot is a great place to sample foods form around the world. there are also many fun rides and fireworks nightly.
Looking for something a little wilder? Go check out Animal Kingdom. This was Disney’s fourth park and opened in 1998. This park is theme totally around animal conservation. It’s a big park so get there early to enjoy it the most. Your children will love it.
Water Parks; how about trying Typhoon Lagoon themed around a tropical island with high speed water shoots and a huge lagoon with man-made waves - terrific fun. Those who want a relaxed time can enjoy a lazy river ride nice and gentle. How about Blizzard Beach for those who want to pretend they are near a snow capped mountain, with big slides just to make your heart beat that little bit faster. All the thrills and spills that children love.
Be sure to venture out one day to Sea World orlando, home of Shamu the Whale. He puts on one amazing show. See the dolphins, seals, sharks, manatees, turtles, penguins, sea lions, and other sea creatures while you are there. Don’t forget the rides, especially their roller coasters. They are some of the South’s best.
There are numerous hotels, villas, and apartments to rent around Orlando. As with any holiday, it all depends on the budget. The Magic Castle and Suites is a great choice as far as value for money goes. It has a large children’s playground and pool, a complimentary breakfast and park shuttle. Rooms cost between 30 and 50 dollars, and sleep up to five people. It is wise, as when booking any holiday, to do some searching around to try to find the best deal, especially when there are children, as holiday budget is the key word.
